Silio has over twenty years experience originating and structuring derivative transactions with corporates, investors and government institutions. He is adept in enterprise-wide risk management, commodity linked finance structuring, portfolio and inventory monetization, and the modeling, pricing and execution of commodity, and hybrid structured FX and equity derivatives.
Prior to Riverside, Silio was a Director at BNP Paribas in New York where he was the Lead Manager of commodity sales and origination for corporate and government institutions in LATAM. He developed commodity-linked transactions including prepays, inventory finance and structured finance-linked hedging. He oversaw BNP’s flow business across Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Chile, executing energy, metals and soft commodity hedging transactions with the bank’s clients.
While at BNP Paribas in London, Silio was a Senior Structurer where he was an integral member of the Commodity Investors Group responsible for product development, as well as structuring, pricing and executing commodity derivatives for institutional investors.
Prior to BNP, Silio was a Vice President at JP Morgan in the London based Commodity Investments Group. He was responsible for structuring, pricing and executing FX and commodity derivatives in the European, Asian and Middle East markets for the bank’s institutional clients.
Silio earned a Ph.D. in Finance at the University of Warwick in the UK, an MBA in Finance from Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración in Venezuela and a BSc. in Actuarial Sciences at Universidad Central de Venezuela. Silio was a research fellow at the University’s Financial Options Research Centre.
Silio is an active long distance runner and competes in Olympic distance triathlons and is fluent in English and Spanish.
